Trip Český Šternberk

The original Gothic castle was built in the 13th century above Sázava River not far from Benešov city. The castle was seriously damaged during fights with King Jiří of Poděbrady in the 15th century but its owners, Lords of Šternberk, reconstructed it and built a new husky fortification. Český Šternberk was damaged also during The Thirty Years’ War. The later reconstruction was in the Baroque Style. During the tour you can admire beautiful interiors, equipped with Baroque and Empire furniture, historic weapons and hunting trophies. There is also a numerous collection of graphics.
