Trip Hluboká

It is situated on the hill above Vltava river near the České Budějovice city.  It was constructed in the 13th century under the rule of Přemysl Otakar II. as a guard-castle.  In the 16th century Hluboká was reconstructed to a Renaissance chateau. From the 17th century to the mid 1950’s it had been owned by the Schwarzenbergs under whose holding, reconstruction took place and today’s appearance was given to the chateau. The reconstruction was carried out in the Tudor Gothic Style after the fashion of the English royal chateau in Windsor. One of the most romantic Czech chateaus offers 140 furnished rooms, divided into 3 options of guided tours.  Furthermore there are paintings, ceramics, white ware, glass and gun collections. The library in Hluboká is also very worthy.  Outside you can admire 11 towers with bastions and a  large chateau park in the  English style. Many celebrations and weddings are taking place in Hluboká every year.
